What is Intuitive Marketing?
If you’ve heard the term Intuitive Marketing before, you may have come across a much different definition of Intuitive Marketing then the one I seem to present here.
In the corporate sphere, Intuitive Marketing is an outward-facing method of marketing to customers. Gut feelings informed by data are major factors of this method. The key is to create strategies that “feel right” and rely less on heavy persuasive tactics, and more on influence and gut reactions. When I say that this corporate/traditional method is an outward-facing one, I mean that it involves using your gut instinct to go directly into strategy. An article by Bonnie Harris of Business 2 Community, explains that “Marketing intuition takes the approach indicated by data, and fine-tunes it to suit your specific scenarios and goals.” There is also another form of Intuitive Marketing that relies on using neuroscience and psychology to create marketing strategies.
Now, it should be said that I have taken a very complex theory and tried to smoosh (there’s that word again) it into a paragraph. I am absolutely oversimplifying and understating this concept but I hope you’re catching what I’m throwing at you.
If this is how corporations are seeing Intuitive Marketing, you may be asking - so what is Intuitive Marketing to YOU, Brittany? How is what you’re doing different, and what the heck does it have to do with Spirituality?
I’m glad you asked.
My idea of Intuitive Marketing is an inward concept. It begins within you. It’s a process of diving deeply within for ideas and plans based not only on your gut, but complete intuitive messages.
It begins with you listening, understanding, and working towards alignment with your greater good, your core needs, your personal mission, and your soul’s purpose. This allows you to be able to identify your ideal client, create a brand that matches your personality and mission, craft the honest communications that speak directly to your clients, and to choose the perfect avenues for advertisement and promotions - avenues that are based on your inner listening and connections to your intuition.
Imagine using meditation and visualizations to get a clear picture of your ideal client. How about using Shadow Work to dive deep into the limiting beliefs you have about selling yourself and your services? You could also create specific rituals or an invocation to help you through specific tasks like making a content calendar or writing a newsletter.
All of these examples are just a few of the ways that we can utilize our intuition and our spiritual practices to create marketing strategies that we can be proud of and that provide results.
My form of Intuitive Marketing is a holistic view of marketing - bridging the Mystical with the Logical.
I am also a proponent of Conscious Marketing and incorporate the neuroscientific and psychological approaches to Intuitive Marketing, especially as it has to do with conscious communications and serving the greater good (but we can get into this later).
